Standardization of Medical Text Structure - Information Processing and Standardization Techniques for Medical Big Data

Automatic text structuring technology is key to driving the automation of the entire medical process, including prevention, consultation, assessment, and more. The research institute will develop text structuring algorithms for the medical field and collaborate with the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission and the Shenzhen Institute of Health Research. The work involves reconstructing backlog case data, automatically converting it into structured data, creating standardized databases, using artificial intelligence algorithms to mine variable correlations, building medical information visualization systems, and establishing automated data annotation platforms. This will provide professional statistical analysis support for clinical diagnoses, helping doctors and hospitals improve efficiency in research, treatment, services, and management, while also laying the foundational platform and technical support for subsequent industrial development of big data mining and other information industries. 


Regarding the three major types of medical data—Chinese electronic medical records, medical imaging, and multi-omics data—the institute will conduct research on data collection, storage, security, information extraction, and standardization of data processing workflows. This effort aims to facilitate the integration of data across medical institutions and provide high-quality public services for the city of Shenzhen. Specifically, this includes key technologies and foundational theories for structuring information, such as automatic de-identification of Chinese electronic medical records, semantic understanding, information association, and generation of standard electronic medical records; key technologies and theories for the storage of medical image data, standard cleaning processes, and rapid automatic interpretation; as well as key technologies and theories for the cleaning, standardization, feature extraction, and integration of multi-omics data. The institute will promote the establishment of standards for Chinese electronic medical record processing workflows, medical image labeling, multi-omics data processing, quality audits of various data types, and standards for outcome evaluation.
