Intelligent Elderly Care
UpdateTime:2024-03-18 01:35

Population aging will be the direct cause of a continuous surge in the total demand for medical and health care in China over the next few decades. In 2018, the population aged 65 and above in China exceeded 160 million, accounting for 11.9%, making it one of the developing countries that entered an aging society earlier. The proportion of the population over 60 years old may reach 35% by 2050. The impact of population aging is that the spectrum of diseases in the population will change, the prevalence of chronic diseases will continue to rise, and the structural increase in medical and health care demand will make digital-based disease prevention and treatment, health monitoring, health care, end-of-life care, chronic disease prevention, and health management increasingly important. The research institute will develop a comprehensive smart community home care platform, connecting the data chain of elderly care services and creating a traceable pension subsidy distribution and supervision system. It will provide online public services for elderly care service providers, integrating mainstream health device software on the market, and offering intelligent software solutions. The institute will establish chronic disease risk assessment models, dedicated to the treatment of common cardiovascular diseases in the elderly and the management of patients with chronic complex conditions. Focusing on hypertension, diabetes, and other diseases, it will strengthen online service management for elderly chronic diseases. Utilizing wearable devices to acquire vital sign data, it will provide health monitoring and management for the elderly. Based on artificial intelligence big data technology and the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission's medical big data information platform, the institute will fully explore smart elderly care big data analysis information to better respond to the severe challenges of population aging.

Currently, the research institute is collaborating with Shenzhen Polytechnic and Shenzhen Institute of Healthy Aging to jointly establish the Greater Bay Area Health and Elderly Care Big Data Smart Center, a carbon-neutral platform for optimizing elderly care facility resources, and other related cutting-edge topics like the Elderly Medical Care Index for in-depth exploration. The preliminary plan is based on 480,000 elderly care service data, utilizing big data and artificial intelligence technologies to mine data on living conditions, service needs, and the elderly, to intelligently assess the distribution of existing elderly care facilities, accurately locate the efficiency of elderly care resources within the region, and provide a green layout for carbon-neutral allocation of elderly care resources. It aims to offer data visualization support for efficient government decision-making, create a pilot platform for carbon-neutral allocation of elderly care resources in the Shenzhen demonstration area, and contribute to optimizing the Shenzhen model of elderly care facility resources.
